The studio and Michelle in particular, continously research new materials, unusual typological or morphological solutions, and innovative technology for comfortable and sustainable interiors. Every new project, no matter the size, requires extensive research. Because we feel strongly that materials play a key role in defining an interior space, a lot of time and energy is given to this initial and fundamental phase.

The location and the client give an initial input then our job is to find and research all related aspects that can be used in a contemporary and innovative way. Our material archive is a constant inspiration together with a real life library with over 2000 books! Also important are visits to our esteemed producers: we feel that only once we know the production process can we devise new ways and optimal solutions for each specific and unique material.
